La Habana, Cuba, 1984. Pianist, composer, educator. In 2006, she moved to Spain, where she currently resides.
She graduated in classical piano from the “Amadeo Roldán” Conservatory of Music (Havana, 2003). She pursued advanced studies at the Instituto Superior de Arte (Havana, 2006) and the Escuela de Música Creativa (Madrid, 2008).
She has extensive experience as a session musician in theaters, venues, and schools throughout Madrid’s current music scene. Her career spans over thirteen years as a pianist in major musical theater productions: «Sound of Music», «Cabaret», «West Side Story», «Les Miserables», «Matilda» and large-scale shows such as «Cruz de Navajas» y «Wah»among others.
Díaz has a very distinctive style in her compositions, creating a unique sound environment that draws on the singularity of the Cuban piano, classical forms, and jazz harmonies.
Es una propuesta musical que reúne las primeras composiciones en calidad de solista de Yuley Díaz, pianista cubana con un enfoque elegante, jazzístico y teatral. Surge tras años de trayectoria en escenarios de España, colaborando con grandes producciones y desarrollando su propio lenguaje musical. Con composiciones originales, cargadas de gran sensibilidad femenina, este proyecto refleja su recorrido artístico y personal, capturando la profundidad emocional de her roots and her evolution as an artist.. Soledad 518 is an instrumental and piano-based proposal with a highly defined style and a sound that highlights the vibrant character of Cuban music. Its repertoire includes unique arrangements that pay tribute to her family.
Díaz proviene de una familia con una rica tradición de músicos y compositores, donde el piano ha sido el corazón de varias generaciones. Su tía, Miriam Valdés, hija del legendario Bebo Valdés, fue quien le abrió las puertas al mundo de la música. Soledad 518 not only honors this legacy but also revives the sound of classical Cuban piano, adding new harmonies and sonorities that offer a fresh and unique musical experience.
